DAFNA MEITAR NECHMAD, President

 

Born in Tel Aviv, grew up in Kiryat Ono, married with three daughters.

 

 

President of Meitar Collection Ltd since 2003. This is a private company owning a collection of more than 150 thousand photographs taken by photographers in the Land of Israel and subsequently in the State of Israel; Meitar Collection preserves and catalogues the photographs, lends them to museums, publishers and producers operating in various fields. The company also publishes catalogues and albums.

 

Member of the Israeli Bar Association since 1989. Worked as an attorney and partner in the Meitar, Liquornik, Geva & Leshem, Brandwein Law Offices; specialized in commercial law, telecommunications, corporation and anti-trust until the end of 2006.

 

Dafna Meitar Nechmad also manages the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund.  The fund has been established by her parents to provide donations in support of cultural and educational projects in Israel and overseas.

 

Member of the managing committee of the Zvi Meitar Center for Advanced Law Studies at the Buchman Law School, Tel Aviv University.

 

 

Board member of JFN – Jewish Funders Network.

 

Founding board member and one of the establishers of the Institute for Law and Philanthropy (ILP) at Tel Aviv University Law faculty. The  ILP's mission is to help integrate philanthropy into Israel’s socio-economic policy and thus support the country’s philanthropic sector in its quest to foster a more prosperous and equitable society. 

 

 

Board director of The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC)

 

 

Managing director of the International Council of the Metropolitan Opera, New York,

And served also the Chairman of the Israel Opera Friends Association between 2005-2012. 

 

Between 2011 - 2014 she was a director on the board of the Channel 10 News Company.
